WHMIS Compliance
WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) compliance is a national system, enforced through the Canada Labour Code, and applied in Ontario by the Ontario Health & Safety Act. Other applicable acts, include the Controlled Products Act and the Hazardous Products Act.
Several pertinent business benefits are garnered through our WHMIS related services. Among the most important are:
- Avoiding costly fines and surcharges
- Reducing WSIB premiums
- Preventing emergency measures compliance orders
- Reduction in workers injury claims
- Creation of a safer working environment
- Reduction in employee lost time costs
- Averting costly product loss due to accident/mishap
To facilitate the above benefits, John W. Winter & Associates provides a review of your WHMIS policy and procedures, on the three levels of WHMIS compliance; Education, Material Safety Data Sheets, and Labelling.
In addition to WSIB regulation 1101, and the Ontario Health & safety Act, we can review your currently established First Aid procedures. We do this via onsite evaluation of your equipment and training protocols, making recommendations for change, upgrade of any training deemed necessary to meet compliance.
